Upgrade
Over the last few days there’ve been a number of occasions when I’ve thought about something, and then thought “I wanna write something about this, but it’s too long to sum up in 140 characters”. I’ve had “CaiWingfield.com” registered for a while, and had some vague nothing sitting in a WordPress framework for a while. I had fun designing some fancy AJAX site but then (as is always the way) realised that I had no actual content. So today I decided that I’d go ahead and upgrade to WordPress 2.7, clear out everything that was content-free, and start again. Here it is. I’ll probably add design back in, slowly, as it’s fun.
Twitter account suspended
Aw man. I got hacked (or something) and an obviously spam message got posted in my twitter feed. Of course, I’ve had my account suspended, pending investigation. I should be back up within a month, according to twitter. I don’t know whether the error is twitter’s or mine, but needless to say every place where I used the same password as for twitter has been changed, just in case. All in all, not as painful as it might have been, I guess!
Site move
Since I’m perpetually embarrassed by the things I write my name uniquely identifies me on most search engines, I have made caiwingfield.net more basic and professional, and moved my shame here, to cai.zone.
.htaccess redirects should ensure old links still work, but please let me know if they don’t.
Embedding a Bibtex publication list in a website with PHP
Now that I have a more professional website, I wanted to include on it a list of publications. It took me a while to figure out a “good” way to do this, and many things I tried didn’t work, so here’s the solution I eventually settled on.
Maybe it can help you too!
Site update
You may have noticed that I’ve not posted here in (*blows dust off the last post to check the date*) about three and a half years.
